Happy Anniversary!!

Kev & I celebrated our second wedding anniversary yesterday, the 5th [we'd extended our vacation by a day so we could have the day off together] - I think the celebrations officially started on Monday night though as my parents took us out for dinner at the Mongolian Grill to celebrate both our anniversary and their pending acceptance of Canadian citizenship.

Then yesterday, on our anniversary, we spent the morning at the Scarborough Civic Centre attending the citizenship ceremony for my parents and brothers, this also gave both of us a chance to reaffirm our oath of citizenship - which was kind of cool. We grabbed a bite to eat after and then went to test drive a few vehicles that we're considering for purchase next year... we didn't manage to pin it down to any one car but at least we've narrowed our options a bit... we also got a chance to swing by the Scarborough Transfer station to grab new green and recycle bins before heading back home to spend the rest of the evening relaxing, eating ice-cream and watching CSI. We also got a few phone calls from some family members that remembered, some as far as the Turks and Caicos, to top off the night, so that was kinda neat.

Celebrating two years of marriage was a great feeling though, even after two years I still feel like the luckiest girl alive so that's a good sign, right? :)

Happy Belated Anniversary!!!!!

Yumm... Mongolian Grill... where IS the closest one, anyway?

Congrats to your family on their citizenship! I remember my parents and Al getting theirs (sadly, I was told I had to go to school that day, so I didn't get to witness it)

You'll have to tell me what's on your short-list of vehicles... I'm not going to be buying anything new any time soon... I need to live vicariously *laugh*

You mean that the previous owners TOOK the recycling and green bins when they moved out??? They're not actually 'allowed' to do that (kind of like taking fixtures, but don't get me started on that ;) ) *grumble*

Anyway... hope your day was great!

Oh... and apparently you still have "comment moderation" turned on and have to approve comments?

Heh. Thanks. :)

Hmmm... I'd have no idea if there was one closer but we went to the grill at Don Mills & Lawrence, pretty swank place, loved the ambience, and the food was alright too ;)

Really? You didn't have to take the oath of citizenship? How old were you? My younger brother is 12 and had to take the oath but couldn't sign for himself... my parents did instead, he was told he'd get lots of opportunities to sign all sorts of important documents later, like mortgages etc ;)

We have no short list of vehicles, currently, it's a pretty long list.

I'd be happy with the 2007 Vibe if we got most of the options on it. It's supposed to be good on gas, takes regular fuel and looks nice.

Ideally the Matrix would be a better deal but they only have cloth seats, I was hoping for leather, we can have it put in together with heaters on the two front seats at the dealer but then that would be modding the car, and I'm not going down that road with this car. ;)

We're not looking to buy any time soon, just seeing what's out there for now.

No, they didn't take the bins when they moved, but the bins they left behind were broken so we brought our purchase agreement over and got free new bins, I think we had 90 days in which to do it.

Yeah, Emma sent me an email last night about the comment moderation thing, I went to look and had like 10 messages, and here I was thinking my blog was so boring no one was reading it. *LOL*

Ah... I didn't have to take the oath 'cuz my folks moved here 3 months before I made my debut ;)

Hmm... you know, leather seats have their disadvantages, too... I wouldn't discount a car purely on the upholstery... but then again, I married an ex-detailer *laugh*

Hmmm... how does one break recycling bins? I mean, they sit in a corner until pick-up every other week and then they get carried to the curb. I don't know anyone who'd willingly drive into one... it kinda takes special talent to break them, no?

Happy Anniversary!

I've never been to a Citizenship ceremony and so have never reaffirmed my citizenship. I guess being born canadian I take it for granted.

The big complaint about leather I hear is in the summer but I haven't found it to be that big a deal for me (that's what the AC is for :) ).

I could very easly see someone break a recycling bin. (tripping over it, kicking it, dropping a particularly overloaded one, etc)

Bruce... it's obvious you've never sat on a leather seat in a cold car in winter while wearing a short-ish skirt (and if you have... I'm not sure I want to know *laugh*) Almost as bad as sitting on hot leather in summer in shorts.... but you don't stick as much or feel like you skin is being seared. It's also pretty easy to damage leather with such fun things as cell phone clips and jean rivets (depending on the brand and style of jeans). But then, I'm not a big fan of leather in cars, so I'm biased ;)

Really? I've both tripped over and kicked several recycling bins and they're all still in one piece (I'm missing pieces of my shin, but the boxes are all in one piece *laugh*). If I trip over the recylcing bin at the new place, I'm sure I'll be the one to break, not it... we're in the pilot neighbourhood for those new monster blue-bins on wheels for residential use... scary! I think the darn thing's almost as big as the car we're going to be putting in the garage! (ok, slight exaggeration, but the Bug's not big, either)
